Mapping Overview

The Mapping Section in Logitrac provides a comprehensive visual representation of your fleet's current status and location. It is an essential tool for monitoring vehicle activity, ensuring accurate tracking, and responding promptly to any issues. This guide will help you understand the key features and how to use them effectively.

1. Accessing the Mapping Section:

   • Step 1: Log in to your Logitrac account.

   • Step 2: Navigate to the "Mapping" tab on your dashboard. This tab is typically located at the top of the screen.

2. Understanding the Map Interface:

   • The map interface will display a real-time overview of all your vehicles.

   • Each vehicle is represented by an icon, which varies based on the vehicle's status.
     ​

3. Interpreting Symbols:

   • Stop Sign (Ignition Off): This symbol indicates that the vehicle's ignition is turned off.

     

   • Red Triangle (Device Not Reading): This symbol means that the device is either not reading or has never read. This could indicate a potential issue with the device.

     

   • Yellow Caution Sign (Idle): Indicates that the vehicle is idle. The ignition is on, but the vehicle is not moving (e.g., at a stop sign or waiting at a red light).

     

   • Blue Arrow (In Motion): Indicates that the vehicle is in motion. The arrow points in the direction the vehicle is moving and displays the vehicle's speed.

     

4. Using the Map for Vehicle Tracking:

   • Selecting a Vehicle:

     • Click on any vehicle icon on the map to view detailed information about that vehicle.

     • A pop-up window will appear, displaying the vehicle's status, current speed, direction, and precise location.

   • Vehicle Details:

     • The pop-up window will also show additional details such as battery level, fuel level, last read location, and any active alerts.

   • Filtering Vehicles:

     • Use the search bar at the top of the Mapping Section to find specific vehicles.

     • You can filter vehicles by various criteria such as VIN, make, model, or any custom labels you have set up.

5. Alert Notifications:

   • Viewing Alerts:

     • Alerts related to vehicle status, such as engine off, device not reading, or geofence breaches, will be displayed on the map.

     • Alert icons will appear alongside the vehicle icons, providing immediate visual cues.

   • Responding to Alerts:

     • Click on an alert icon to view detailed information about the alert.

     • Take necessary actions based on the alert type, such as contacting the driver, checking the device, or updating vehicle information.

   • Configuring Alerts:

     • Alerts can be configured in the " Manage Alerts" tab. Ensure you have set up relevant alerts to stay informed about critical events.

6. Geofences and Tracking Zones:

   • Setting Up Geofences:

     • Geofences can be set up to monitor when vehicles enter or exit specific areas.

     • To set up a geofence, navigate to the "Geofence" tab, draw the desired boundary on the map, and save the settings.

   • Geofence Alerts:

     • Configure geofence alerts to receive notifications when vehicles breach the geofenced areas.

     • These alerts help in tracking unauthorized movements and ensuring vehicles stay within designated areas.

7. Historical Data:

   • Accessing Vehicle History:

     • To view the historical data of a vehicle, click on the vehicle icon and select the "History" tab in the pop-up window.

     • Choose the date range and click "Load" to see the vehicle's movements during that period.

   • Analyzing History Data:

     • The history data includes details such as start and stop times, routes taken, speed, and idle times.

     • Use this information to analyze driving patterns, identify inefficiencies, and improve fleet management.
